GOD AND SEX AT YALE

GOD AND SEX AT YALE

Nathan Harden, a graduate of Yale University, wrote a book entitled Sex and God at Yale: Porn, Political Correctness, and a Good Education Gone Bad (2012).

Harden chose his title to play off William Buckley’s famous book from 1951, God and Man at Yale (a great read by the way!). Buckley decried the intellectual arrogance and hostility he encountered at Yale in the late 1940s as a student there. The hostility of the faculty was typically directed at those who held to a Judeo-Christian worldview. It seems that things have only continued to deteriorate since Buckley wrote his classic. How far Yale has fallen since the 1790s when faculty could be dismissed for denying biblical authority! How far Yale has fallen since the 1800s when numerous revivals broke out among the student body (1802, 1813, 1831, and 1858).

Harden describes a present-day university going down the moral sewer. He tells how Yale pioneered the hosting of a campus Sex Week, a “festival of sleaze, porn and debauchery dressed up as sex education.” In one classroom a porn star stripped down to her bare breasts. Other female students participated in a porn star look-a-like contest. Harden describes example after example of the moral rot that Sex Week entails. Porn films are also shown and watched throughout the week. Yale University defends Sex Week under the auspices of academic freedom. Even more disturbing is that Sex Week is being duplicated at Harvard, Brown, Duke, Northwestern, the University of Illinois and the University of Wisconsin.

Remember that Yale educated three recent Presidents and several Supreme Court justices. The extremely disturbing practice of Sex Week is a further indication of how decadent our culture is becoming. Yale was originally started as a school to train pastors, and has now collapsed into a moral cesspool that is corrupting our leaders of tomorrow. May God have mercy, but then again, hasn’t He already?
