The Lie of Evolution
Many evolutionists speak of natural selection and evolution in much the same way that Christians speak of God’s omnipotence. The difference, however, is that natural selection is a blind, powerless process. It has no intelligence, authority, or power over anything. Yet, folks like Richard Dawkins, Steven Pinker, and Stephen Hawking speak of evolution in glowing terms, as if it were “god-like” in power and ability. For example, Richard Dawkins writes in The God Delusion, “Darwinian natural selection is the only known solution to the otherwise unanswerable riddle of where information comes from. . . Natural selection is not only a parsimonious, plausible and elegant solution; it is the only workable alternative to chance. . . Design is not the only alternative to chance. Natural selection is a better alternative” (114, 120-121).
Steven Pinker, psychology professor at Harvard, believes likewise. Although Pinker is an atheist, in his book, The Blank Slate, he claims we see “signs of engineering everywhere; in eyes that seem to be designed to form images; in hearts that seem to be designed to pump blood, in wings that seem designed to lift birds in flight.” A stunning admission to say the least! Then, get this, he goes on to say, “Certainly an eye is too well engineered to have arisen by chance. . . Natural selection is the only physical process that can simulate engineering” (51-52) (bold emphasis mine).
It’s hard to believe how candid some atheists are, even while denying the obvious existence of God. The only answer has to be the darkness and foolishness of the human heart. Romans 1:22, “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.” The above quotes by Dawkins and Pinker are reminders of how silly and foolish well educated, brilliant people can be. We are all capable of such deception. Let us not be duped by such nonsense. Open your Bible and trust in what God has said. It makes a lot more sense!
