Growing Up in Christ

Growing Up in Christ

This weekend we will be starting a new sermon series, Growing Up in Christ. The goal of this series is to help true followers of Jesus better understand the nature of spiritual growth and maturity. One of the realities of the American church today is a sallowness and superficiality. Many sit in worship services week after week and barely make any real spiritual progress in life. Their lives are frequently marked by a lack of joy and spiritual vitality. They are missing out on so much that God intended for them.

The problem is either one of two things: 1) they were never saved in the first place, or 2) they are genuine followers of Jesus but are not taking active steps to grow in Christ and find lasting joy.

In this series, we will look at a number of spiritual disciplines that are critical for spiritual health and fitness. These are ancient disciplines that have been used over the centuries by God’s people again and again. They are ancient because they are deeply rooted in God’s Word. Merely participating such disciplines is not an automatic guarantee of spiritual health, but one thing is for sure: we cannot grow in Christ without them. These disciplines are critical for placing us in the pathway of God where He can change us from the inside out. Plan to join us and ask the Lord to give you a fresh hunger and passion for Him.

Here are the individual messages that we will be looking at;
