Making Him Known
Not long ago when I was reading my Bible in the morning I came to Psalm 92. The first two verses say this, “It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night,” (Psalm 92:1-2, ESV). What struck me at that moment was nothing too profound, but something I needed to be reminded of again. Our God is worthy to be praised and to declare to Him, and others, His greatness. And the Psalmist knows that this is good for us. So, we are prodded in a good way to always keep in mind the glories of God. By using the bookends of “in the morning” and “by night,” he is basically giving us the understanding that we are to declare His goodness all the time. We are told that it is for our good and God’s glory to speak of God’s “never stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love.” So why not stop right now and think about His steadfast love toward you. How has He shown that to you? And later today, think about His faithfulness. How has He shown Himself faithful to you? My prayer is that you and I will immediately see that, above all else, God has shown His steadfast love and faithfulness to us through Jesus. And when we are floored by that reality I pray that we will then declare, speak of, Him to the people around us, for God’s glory.
Soli Deo Gloria
