Something God Is Stirring Up in My Spirit
I came across this quote, and I believe it is where the disciplemaking movement needs to begin. I hope as we share Jesus’ way of making disciples it will create a movement of disciplemaking that would impact the church, the community of Crystal Lake, and the world around us.
Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure. — D L. Moody
I continue to wrestle in my spirit over this: “Do I believe Jesus can cause a world-changing disciplemaking movement out of the Evangelical Free Church of Crystal Lake?” Then I doubt if I have time, energy, or will or desire to be a part of it. Where would my faith and belief and my call to follow increase? I believe it is on my knees. It is where we begin to really learn to abide in Jesus. John 15:5, “Apart from me you can do nothing.”
It is my hope and prayer that we begin to have a movement of Robb and Katie Cook stories — of people in the church following Jesus and being sent into the world around us to help others learn to follow. We don’t need to leave our community to be on mission with Jesus. We can be disciplemakers in Crystal Lake, Illinois, the United States, and around the world. As we are on this mission with God, we can’t do it or make it without being on our knees in prayer.
